The plasma in your blood does.

Not the yellow of your herbal tea or pee, nor the potato crisp hiding under your car seat. We’re talking about the yellow in your blood: the yellow of your plasma. This golden liquid makes up 55% of your blood and saves so many lives. 

Plasma is a vital component that your body produces by itself, all the time. It contains essential proteins that cannot be artificially reproduced. But you can donate plasma to change the lives of people with serious illnesses. Plasma is indeed an essential raw material for many treatments. It is used to treat immune deficiencies, to treat haemophilia, to stop bleeding, to transfuse to burn victims and to create many types of medicine. Thanks to plasma, thousands of patients can be treated and live a normal life.  

Currently, we are sorely lacking plasma in Belgium. The need for plasma is increasing day by day. Therefore, The Crew and the Croix-Rouge de Belgique are launching a long-term awareness and recruitment campaign for plasma donation on 14 April 2025 with a clear objective: double donations by 2029. And to do this, they chose an offbeat design, a tone-of-voice that makes you smile and above all a clear message: “THIS YELLOW DOES NOT SAVE LIVES. THE PLASMA IN YOUR BLOOD DOES.” By playing on unexpected (and funny) comparisons, the campaign challenges, tickles and, above all, captures people’s minds. On social media, on the radio, in public places, on campuses… Get ready to see this campaign surfacing everywhere!  

So, the message is simple: we have to take action together. And we need you for that. Yes, you 💛! A plasma donation only takes 1 hour and 15 minutes, including snacks. You can even donate every two weeks. And contrary to popular belief, it is accessible to most healthy adults. To donate, you just need to be over 18 years old, in good health, weigh at least 50 kg and not be particularly at risk of infectious diseases.
